July 23 – 62 mi from the Rough River to Hodgenville, KY. 2904 logged miles. Good ride but really hot. Great Southern lunch including cornbread and coconut pie at the Brooks General Store Café in Sonora, KY. We’re staying in a cabin next to Lincoln’s birthplace. We can’t see the log cabin where he was born because the modern building that encircles it is being refurbished with stimulus funds. I plan to go off route tomorrow to take a more direct route to Berea and get bike supplies at a shop in Danville
